Lucy Learns to Ride a Bike

Lucy's First Day of Preschool!

Lucy had a great first day of school!  Her only disappointments were that she didn't get to ride the bus and that school wasn't long enough.  Hahaha, typical Lucy!

Max's First Day of School

Max had a great first day back to school.  He likes his first grade class and likes being more familiar with the school (ie, not a kindergartener!). Lucy and I had a fun day together and enjoyed making Max and his buds some delicious cupcakes while they were at school.

Happy Labor Day!

Super Fun Visit with Sara Kaye

We had the pleasure of hanging with my bud, Sara, for the day.  We jet skied, hung at the sand bar, chowed down, and roasted marshmallows.  A Dark & Stormy or two may also have been involved.  It was so much fun to hang with my homegirl!

Skate Park

We met up with our good friends to hang at a skate park for a few.  These little homies had a blast!

Oh Lucy!

BRUNCH!

We were able to squeeze in one more visit with Lynn and Theron during their Michigan stay.  And as an added bonus, Jason and Tricia were able to join us too.  Jonathan and I prepared several delicious delights:  frisee salad with pork belly croutons, mini quiches, stuffed dates, green bean, tomato and parmesan salad, banana bread with cinnamon, honey, and pecan butter, candied bacon, and orange and grapefruit salad.  It was delish!!  We all had full bellies and big smiles. It was a successful celebration.  It was so nice to have Lynn and Theron in our state for the whole month!  In retrospect I wish we had even more time with them but we sure enjoyed the time we did have.  Thank you Lynn & Theron for coming our way for the extended stay.  We sure hope you do it again!!

Our Brief Visit with Gramma

Contrary to my Gramma's expression, she was happy to see us!  On our way home from one of our up north trips this summer we stopped by to see my Gramma for an hour or two.  We also had the added bonus of visiting with my Aunt Patty and Uncle Jay.  It was good to see them all!  But it was especially good to put my arms around my Gramma and to be with her.  I miss going up and playing with all of my cousins at her house.  We used to get up to her place (she lives on a lake!) every year as a big group of family.  This hasn't happened in years and now would be too overwhelming for her but I miss those times.  It was good to get the kids and Jonathan up to her house even if it was for a short visit.
