Max Flies to Florida!!

Max and Otto flew to Florida for a week to visit their Nana and Bibbon.  This was Max's first big trip away from home and our first time being without him.  It was a long time for all of us!  But he had the time of his life!  Nana came to Michigan to fly with the boys to Florida.  In the meantime, Bibbon drove to Alabama and picked up their cousin, Landon.  Two more cousins, Hannah and Robert, live about five minutes away from Lynn & Theron.  It was a cousin extravaganza!!  It was a really special experience for all of them.  Thank-you, Nana and Bibbon!!

Lucy's First Haircut

Lucy had her first haircut!  She cried through most of it but held pretty still so it was very doable.  Ms. Jerri didn't take too much off.  Just enough to clean it up and help it grow into a little bob.  I think it turned out great!

Grand Haven State Park

We took Lucy on her first camping trip!  Both kids did excellent!  This was our first time at the state campground in Grand Haven and my lasting take away was SAND.  Holy moly.  It didn't occur to me that the campground wouldn't have any trees (hardly any) and that the entire place would be sand.  I don't know why this didn't occur to me.  But it didn't.  So, I was little caught off guard by the lack of shade and abundance of sand.  But after getting our shade tent up and our sleep tent set (with help because that was a debacle), we got settled and got to having fun.  Friends of ours, Kendra and Tony, were also camping and we met even more friends.  Kendra and Tony have a 6 yo boy, Enzo, and little girl, Ava, who's about 3 mo younger than Lucy.  Max and Enzo are great pals and seem to really enjoy each others' company.  We also had a surprise visit from another couple of friends of ours who were staying in the area.  It was a great weekend and fun was had by all.

Max and Lucy's cousin, Catherine, and my brother, Bill, spent a couple days at our house recently.  It was such a great visit!  Catherine is such a beautiful person inside and out and I just adore the little lady she's becoming.  One of our mornings together we all went blueberry picking.  The berries were delicious!!  We enjoyed them by the hand fulls and made blueberry pancakes and blueberry muffins.

Brian and Melissa had us over for dinner and a bonfire.  We all had a great time!  The kids especially liked playing in the pools and in the bounce house.  It was obvious from Lucy's behavior in the kiddie pool that she likes to party:)
