Long's Orchard

This past weekend we enjoyed visiting Long's Orchard for some fresh doughnuts and apple picking.  My Mom joined us for the fun too.  We picked a peck of Honeycrisps for $30.  We stuffed more than 50 apples in our bag!  We've been enjoying them ever since.

Tigers vs. Royals

The day after our Cranbrook adventure we went to a Tiger's Game.  It was so fun!  The Byrnes Family also joined us for the fun.  Lucy was a trooper and so was everyone that sat around us.  She wasn't too content sitting so Lucy walked between us and stroked the backs of the people sitting in front of us.  Fortunately, they were all very tolerant of her.  We're lucky she's such a cutie pie:)

Visiting Cranbrook

We spent one of our Saturday's driving around the beautiful property at Cranbrook and visiting their science museum.  They have some of the most beautiful minerals on display.  It was amazing!!  The whole museum was pretty cool.

Many years ago I had the honor of teaching at Cranbrook for a summer program.  I had about five students and I taught them how to do a research project.  They did their research, set up experiments, and presented a paper of their findings to their peers.  My students received first place for their project!  It was an awesome experience for me.  Being back on the campus reminded me about this.  It was good to be back for a visit.

Max's Second Day of School 2013-2014

I made these cute little cupcakes for what I considered Max's official first day of school.  He was really excited about going back and I could tell he had a great day.  And yes, he took the foam finger to school in his backpack:)  Lucy was equally as excited about the start of school.  I think she likes having a little one on one time once in awhile;)

Max's First Day of School 2013-2014

I didn't really consider this Max's first day since it was only about an hour and a half and all us mom's or dad's were there.  So, I didn't make too big a deal about it.  But I did ask Max to wear something handsome.  I helped him pick out the shirt and jeans and he added the Spiderman glove and Lions button.  He couldn't find the second glove and insisted on wearing just the one.  Hilarious.

Impromptu Visit to my Grama's

Max, Lucy, and I took a quick trip to my Grama's the week before Max went back to school.  It was great to visit with my Grama and it's always so nice to be at her place.  It brings back such fond memories of hanging up there with my cousins when we were kids.

Found Videos

I found this lil gem of Lucy learning how to climb the ladder and go down the slide.  She caught on quickly and loved every minute of it!  This is from April or May.  Lucy and I were passing time while Max was at speech class.

Here's a little Lucy and me time.  Our little Lucy...she sure is a great little girl.

Concert in the Park

One of our local parks hosts four free concerts throughout the summer.  We made it to two of them.  The Zoll family was able to join us for the second one.  It was a great time!  There were bounce houses, face painting, other freebies, and of course live music.  Lucy got a little overly tired and wondered around deliriously trying out every blanket.  She also enjoyed playing with Eli!  We all had a good time.
