I can't believe I met Maxwell 5 years ago today!  He surprised me by coming into my world four weeks early and my life has been a wonderful journey ever since.  My love for him is immeasurable.  He is smart and kind and a great big brother.  He is so much more than this but I could go on for days about how great he is.  Jonathan and I are so proud of the boy he is growing up to be and we enjoy his funny personality so much.  Happy birthday, buddy, we love you more than words can say.

Max's 5th Birthday Party!!

We celebrated Max's 5th birthday with blacklight bowling, video games, pizza, gifts, and cake.  It was great!  We let Max take care of the guest list and he invited about 15 friends.  He invited a few friends from school and a few of our friends' kids.  Afterward, we met Tom, Rhonda, and Eric, along with the Zolls at our house for some more snacks and fun.  Max and Otto raged with all of the new toys, Lucy napped, Eli hung out, and the rest of us got a chance to catch up.  It was a great day.  Max said it was the "best day ever"!

Lucy and her Pony

Halloween

This is what Halloween looked like.

This is what it felt like:)

The Zolls and the Shoennborn's joined us for dinner and trick or treating. It was a rainy night but we all had a great time. And the kids (and parents) were pleased with the amount of candy collected that evening.  We all agreed that this it would continue to be our Halloween tradition to get together for dinner and drinks and then enjoy walking the neighborhood together.  A love the beginning of a new tradition!

More Fun at Longs

We met our friends at Longs' for some more fall fun last Sunday.  The kids ran around, ate donuts and played in the pumpkins (no climbing was involved). Then we headed to the play area with Max's friend, Enzo.  The apple launchers were being repaired so that was a bummer, but the pillow trampoline and pedal carts proved to be plenty of fun.

Halloween at Discover

Max's preschool had a Halloween Family Night.  It began with a puppeteer and ended with games in his well decorated classroom.  I even wore a wig and some wings for the occasion.

The Dentist

Max had his six month check up recently at the dentist and I was surprised to see our picture from one of this summer's papers posted in the waiting room.  I thought it was kind of cool.  I also think Max looks pretty cool when he's wearing those shades!

A Visit from Uncle Kris!!

My brother, Kris, visited us recently and it was so good to get to hang with him!  Max and Lucy adore him!  We enjoyed his company while we went about our daily activities and we squeezed in a visit to the cider mill before going out for burgers and beer.  It was a short visit but a great one.  Thank you for coming to see us Kris!!  We love you!

Trick or Trucks

My mom came for a visit while Jonathan was out of town for work and Max and I took advantage of having a sitter for Lucy and we hit Trick or Trucks.  This year was a much smaller turn out for trucks to trick or treat than last year.  I was a little disappointed about that and it was really cold this year too.  But Max had a good time and he loved going for a ride in the cherry picker!
